Professional Training in Counselling & Psychotherapy

We believe that the need for efficient and effective counsellors and therapists will increase in the coming years in India and our training courses are designed to cater to that need.


NCPC conducts both long term and short term training programmes aimed at developing professionals in the field of counselling and psychotherapy. The aim and vision in training professionals in the field of psychotherapy and counselling is to develop professionals who can model to the clients to be winners in their lives.

Our philosophy in training counsellors and psychotherapists is that the training should be Integrative, Progressive & Transformative both for the trainee and the clients that the trainee may engage with in the future.

The course content have been developed to interweave both practice and theory, aimed at training the individual to mature into a sensitive therapist with adaptability to use various methods and models.

Once trained the psychotherapist / counsellors will be able to work with individuals, couples and families.


One year Course for Counselling Skills -


The Course will Unfold in Three Dimension

  • Provide orientation to the theories to understand models of psychotherapy
  • Practice and integration of theory and application
  • Application and supervision support

On completion the students will be eligible to get accredited after passing an exam. The faculty will be practicing psychotherapists and counsellors, professors, psychiatrists etc

Psychotherapist: Three and a half years course

Year 1 – 2.5 years

  • Developmental resolutions
  • Methods and techniques to handle the client's issues
  • Systemic thinking
  • Diagnosis, treatment planning interventions and treatment and Termination
  • Introduction to Psychopathology
  • Transactional Analysis
  • Group Treatment and Family Therapy
  • Child Development in TA
  • Child Development – Jean Piaget, Erik Ericson etc
  • Self-and peer assessment

Year 3


  • Contracting and case study review
  • When and How to take supervision
  • Building supervision as a part of learning process
  • Important schools in TA
  • Integrative Psychotherapy
  • Relational psychotherapy
  • Introduction in brief to Other models of therapy
    • CBT
    • Gestalt
    • NLP
    • Hypnosis
  • Referral counselling
  • Ethics and professional responsibility

Four year course with emphasis on Transactional Analysis

Trainees will be eligible to apply for an exam and on successful completion be eligible for an international accreditation both in the field of counselling and psychotherapy.

2 year weekend programme for counsellors

counselling is oriented to problem solving with the here and now resource of the client.
